Announcements

• BGP will “announce” any CIDR prefix which it has been told to announce, as long as it knows how to reach that prefix.

• Use “Null routes” with large administrative distances to make sure we always know how to reach our prefixes, even when interfaces are down.

• We tell BGP which prefixes we want to announce by means of a “network” statement.
