Autonomous Systems

Before we talk about Interior and Exterior routing we need to define what those terms mean.
For that we need to know what an Autonomous System (“AS”) is.
An AS is a collection of networks which are all controlled by policy laid-down by a single entity.
Networks in an AS need not be directly connected to each other; The policy is important, not the topology.
