Summary so far
So far we have built a network which receives “world routes” from a variety of upstream peers. IBGP routers will “hot-potato” packets out of our network through any “appropriate” upstream link.
EBGP also announces reachability information for our own prefixes to those peers, using policy we can express in router configs or RPSL objects.
Through our IGP, we have internal redundancy where physical links are available.
