A ship was wrecked near this cove in the 1800's (can't say "Last Century" anymore!). There were two survivors, a young sailor and a "lady."
The sailor helped her to shore then scaled the walls of the cove so that he could run for help.
Due to the fact that he'd seen her underwear while rescuing her, he actually asked her to marry him so nobody would get the wrong idea. She, of course, high-tailed it straight back to Ireland.
